Know your check engine code before you pay a garage.
FuelFixScan plugs into your car's OBD2 port and shows the stored fault codes on its own screen.
A typical garage diagnostic costs more than this scanner.
Many garages charge a fee just to find out why a warning light is on.
Source: RepairPal 2026 national estimate for a check-engine-light diagnosis. Actual prices vary by shop, location, and vehicle. FuelFixScan reads codes; it does not repair your car, and a garage's diagnosis can involve more than reading a code. Knowing the code first means you go into that conversation better informed.

Clear codes after a repair
Reset the check engine light once the fault has been dealt with. Clearing a code does not fix the problem.

Check readiness and vehicle info

What does your code mean?
Tap a commonly seen code to see what it can point to.
Catalyst efficiency below threshold
The catalytic converter may not be cleaning exhaust as well as it should. The cause can be the converter itself or an oxygen sensor.
These are general definitions and the exact cause varies by vehicle. A code is a starting point, not a complete diagnosis, and complex issues should be checked by a qualified mechanic.

Compatibility.
FuelFixScan works with OBD2-compliant vehicles. In the US, that means cars and light trucks from 1996 onward.
Outside the US it depends on the vehicle. In Europe, petrol cars from 2001 and diesels from 2004 use the equivalent EOBD standard. Protocol support can vary, so please check your vehicle's compatibility before ordering.
Common questions.
Do I need an app or a phone?
No. FuelFixScan has its own built-in screen and menu, so you can read codes without a phone or app.
Can it fix my car, or just read codes?
It reads and displays codes, and can clear them after a repair. It does not repair anything. If the underlying fault is still there, the warning light and the code are likely to come back.
